Located in the south of the city centre. The Magique Pathe was opened around 1913. Seating was provided for 1,100 in orchestra and balcony levels. In 1951 it was re-named Magic Cinema Theatre.

In 1967 it became the Magic Convention and was twinned in 1973. In 1978 it was converted into a 4-screen cinema, with two screens in the former balcony seating 340 and 235 the former orchestra screen seating 465 and a screen in the basement seating 88. Taken over by UGC in 1982 it was re-named UGC Convention. Still open in 1993, it has since closed and has been demolished.
