Located in the Aguada de Pasajeros district of Jaguey Grande, in the Matanzas province. In 1958 there were two cinemas operated in Jaguey Grande: the 700-seat Cine Mendia at Carlos Manuel de Cespedes, between Capitan Ojito and Calixto Garcia, and the 900-seat Cine General Antonio.
The Zapata swamp lies to the south of the town.
