This theatre remains open. It stages live productions but still shows classic movies every weekend. It is now called the Village Players Theatre. There is a page on their website that gives a very detailed history of the building, which originated as a church. The address is 51 Glendon St.

There was a single screen cinema operating in Wolfeboro in the 70s. I remember seeing Woody Allen’s film Love and Death which was out in 1975. Seemed to be run by some cinema enthusiasts as I recall their schedule mentioned extra speakers being installed for the movie Tommy.

The Theatre Historical Society archive has the MGM Theatre Report for the Little Theatre. It’s Card # 517. But no one filled it out so there is no info. There is an undated exterior photo which shows a handsome white building. It looks like it could be the Town Hall, but that’s not the case. It’s the type of building which could be considered a local landmark and may still be standing today somewhere in Wolfeboro.
