Ritz Theatre

Viewing: Photo | Street View

The Ritz Theatre opened in 1939, and closed in May 1960. The theatre was demolished and a service station built on the site(Ampol or Caltex?). The service station was demolished(1980’s or 1990’s?), and remained empty for many years. The site is now The Bodhi Tree, and Oxford Day Surgery and Dermatology.

The owners of The Ritz Theatre(and Ritz Gardens?) were Parker and During, who also operated the Rosemount Theatre(and Rosemount Gardens?) in North Perth. Wilf Birch was the operator for some years.

I think the photo(in the book, Our Town) is on page 89?
