The Ritz Theatre opened on 23rd April 1938 with Robert Montgomery in “The Man in Possession”. It was closed in May 1960. The theatre was demolished in the mid-1960’s and a service station built on the site(Ampol or Caltex? - The service station was demolished(1980’s or 1990’s?), and remained empty for many years. The site is now The Bodhi Tree, and Oxford Day Surgery and Dermatology - Notes by David Coppock
