Newspaper advertisement for the Regent c. 1936

Located on the south side of Massingham Street one block from the southeast corner of Scott Street. The Bijou Theatre opened on 31st December 1929. Name changed to Regent Theatre on 9th May 1931. The Regent Gardens opened in 1937 or 1938. The Regent Theatre and Gardens closed on 19th May 1963 a few days before the drive-in opened. In later years, it was used by the Police and Citezins group, and then the Speedway Club, and is now a (private?) residence.

I think the Regent Gardens was behind the Regent Theatre.
