When Steven A. Lynch’s Southern Enterprises takes over the Empress theatre, it was one of the Paramount Theatre Corp.’s funded exhibiting arms. Suddenly booking of features at the Empress went almost exclusively Paramount and the ads and showmanship increased dramatically as the theater went from independent to studio backed.
