Starlight Twin Drive-In

The Starlight Drive-In opened in 1957 by the Sourris Brothers with a capacity for 359 cars. Later taken over later by Birch Carroll & Coyle (date unknown?). The Starlight Drive-In had a second screen added in 1969 and it was re-named Starlight Twin Drive-In with an increased car capacity of 500. In 1981 it was expanded to have a 650-csr capacity. It closed in 2001 in abrupt and mysterious circumstances. The public outcry resulted in the story gaining front page coverage in the Brisbane Courier Mail. Housing is on the site today.
