Lawn seats are advertised as 1/6d, while Grandstand pews were 1/-. Why this disparity? Was it that the projectors were located there and created a noise nuisance? Was it cooler and more comfortable out in the open? Was the Grandstand too far from the screen? Did the Grandstand roof support poles interfere too much with a view of the screen? So many questions, so few answers, so long ago (18th December 1940).
