The grounds are now an industrial park. No trace of this short lived drive-in remains.

We never got the whole story from Coyote ownership. Just a repetitive spiel about how the location was “underperforming.” They surrendered their Leeds, AL location to another firm as well. All they have left is their Fort Worth location – which is packed like sardines on Spring & Summer weekend nights. It’s a pain to get to from North Dallas, though.

What happened? This theater was only open for two years and had brand new equipment. How can it get torn down already? Did some giant land developer snag it?

Sounds like it closed for the season due to bad weather and flooding.

Did it screen the movie Coyote Ugly?

Overhead shot is on their FB page. It’s killer!

it would be interesting to see the field layout with an overhead view from a drone.

Now this is one FABULOUS drive-in theatre! 5 screens with enough room for an expansion to 6. A playground like the good old days. The single greatest drive-in concession stand I’ve ever seen – a full bar on one side and a full blown restaurant on the other side baking freshly made pizza and offering BBQ brisket(!!!) alongside the burgers, dogs and popcorn!

The picture is among the clearest ever seen at a drive-in. Bright bright bright – at least it is for day scenes. They could adjust the contrast a lil bit for scenes in the dark. The sound booms from your speakers with no exterior interference. And, in a REAL throwback to the good old days, they have their own preshow & intermission programming that they merge onto the feature presentation of your choice.

Absolutely awesome place! Can’t wait get back there in the coming summer months!

Wish they could build a 4 screener here in New Jersey where the old Amboys Drive in once stood.
