Located at Sint-Pietersplein 46. Opened in 1925 by Achilles De Meyere. In the years 1936-1937 there were three shows a day on Saturday and Sunday; on weekdays there was only one show that started at 8pm.

Outside, a bell rang out as long as there were tickets for sale. Those who came early sat at the back, those who arrived late had to take place in the front because the tickets were numbered.

After the news and the movies (usually a comic or a documentary) followed a ten-minute break. If you wanted to leave during the break, you got a ticket with the entry “Entracte” on it. After the “attrak” (as the lokals would say) the main movie was rolled off.

The Ideal Cinema closed in 1981. Was subsequently rebuilt as a bank agency, at the back a square yard still outlines the former theatre.
