Designed by architect Teodoro Anasagasti and inaugurated in June 1924 as the Cine Teatro del Cisne, because was located at 8 Chamberi Square at the beginning of the the Paseo del Cisne Boulevard, now Avenida Eduardo Dato. It opened with 1,500 seats located in the orchestra level and two levels of boxes.

It was re-named Cine Teatro Chueca on 29th September 1926. It was closed in May 1973.
