One of South Dakota’s obscure drive-in theatres was the Red Elm Drive-In located in Red Elm, South Dakota. It was located 9.6 miles west of Dupree, South Dakota on U.S. 212. I believe it opened in 1955. The closing date is unknown at this time. When the drive-in opened there was a railroad depot and gas station in Red Elm. Everything now is all long gone.
