The Longhorn was relocated in 1966. Final night of operation at the original location was on April 4. The new location at 8900 Research Blvd, about 3 miles south of the old location, opened on May 20.

I think the drive-in has been demolished? The site is now a bank(Frost Bank)?

The Longhorn Drive-In apparently closed in December 1973. Although the Sunday, December 9, 1973 edition of the American-Statesman listed “White Lighting” and “Death Rides a Horse” as opening for the week of December 12-18, 1973, there is no subsequent ad for these films in the next weekend. The last films listed there were “Class of ‘44” and “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?” They close drive-ins because the land is too valuable for other redevelopment, don’t they?
