The Princess Court Theatre was opened in 1912. It was a dual-purpose theatre and skating rink. In 1917 it converted into a cinema and was re-named Strand Theatre. From 1919 the programme also contained variety acts to complement the films. Occasional seasons of drama were also presented on the stage.
In 1924 it was re-named Tivoli Theatre keeping the mix of films & vaudeville in its programming into the 1930’s. In the 1940’s it became part of the Birch, Carroll & Coyle chain. It was closed in 1964.
In 2018 the building is in use as a King$ Cash Exchange pawnbrokers.
