Surf Drive-In

The Surf-Drive-In became the county’s second drive-in launching on October 12, 1950 with the film, “The Daughter of Rosie O'Grady” starring June Haver". The first ozoner in Freeport, the Tradewind Drive-In, had just launched in June. Under new owners for just days in 1961, Hurricane Carla heavily damaged the Surf Drive-In which was rebuilt and back in service.

A closer address is Cresent Heights, Freeport, TX.

This short road surrounds the property where the drive-in was located and sits next to the TX-288/TX-332 cloverleaf.

Today, there is only the faint hints of ramps, outline, and entrance/exit roads of the drive-in.
