Colonial Theatre

The 1914 Sanborn shows a good-sized theatre in a 2-story brick building with an iron front. The second floor of this and the neighboring building was used by the Axis Club, but there may have been room for a balcony. The theatre was a conversion of the furniture store that appears on the 1906 map, and the structure was deepened to include a stage. The building is long gone, the entire corner being occupied by an ugly 1960’s bank and parking lot.
