A large cinema in the Salario neighborhood. The Cinema Excelsior was opened by 1940. On 11th September 1965 the Cinema Empire became a 70mm Cinerama theatre. It had closed by May 2019.

Beginning September 1, 1965 this theatre ran 70mm Cinerama films.

As the Excelsior on May 18, 1940, this cinema was showing “Le tre ragazze in gamba crescono” (Three Smart Girls Grow Up), with Deanna Durbin. Also a LUCE documentary. From a listing in Il Messaggero.
