Cinema Belsito

The Cinema Belsito was located inside a luxury residential complex that opened in 1953, designed by architect Ugo Luccichenti. A cinema that had been part of the design plan opened at some point after the complex had opened. It was an active cinema into the 1960’s and 1970’s before closing for a number of years. It was transformed into a Masonic Temple which opened in 2011.

On August 27, 1969 I sought out the Cinema Belsito to see an infrequently shown film by Bernardo Bertolucci called “Partner.” I had already seen it at the New York Film Festival but wanted to catch it again.
