The UA Phelan 6 was initially operated by United Artists, which is why there was a “UA” in the theater name of the UA Phelan 6. See in the photos section a storefront of the Phelan after it was closed during the Hollywood Theaters operating years. You will see that the “UA” letters had been removed from the theater name.
The Martin Colonnade 4 and the United Artists Phelan 6 both opened on December 19th, 1980. Grand opening ad posted.
