Germania Palast

Located in the city centre district of Hamm Nord on Mittlestrasse 45 (today re-named Carl-Petersen Strasse 45-47. The 900-seat Piccadilly Lichtspiele was opened on 23rd October 1928 and was operated by Kruse & Co. In 1931 it was operated by Gehl and a Tobis sound system was installed. In 1932 it was remodeled and re-named Germania Palast with a capacity of 1,000 seats. In 1934 the Germania Palast was operated by Helene Fick and in 1938 Helene Meininger took over. In 1943, the Germania Palast was destroyed by Allied bombs during World War II.

In 1951 a new cinema, the Forum Filmtheatre was built and opened on the site.(it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
