Union Theater

The Union Theater was opened in 1912. It was later equipped with a Wurlitzer Hope-Jones Unit Orchestra (a Wurlitzer model 165 2Manual 6Ranks. The organ was removed in 1932 to the Lido Cinema, Hove, England). It was damaged by Allied bombs in 1941 during World War II> The Union Theater was renovated in 1954 to the plans of architect Hanns Ruttgers who gave it a Streamline Moderne style and it was equipped with CinemaScope. In 1974 it was remodelled to the plans of architect Gunter Ritter. The Union Theater was closed in 1977.
