Electric Theater

The November 1907 Sanborn shows an ‘Electric Theater’ operating in a one story metal-clad wooden building. Since the theater is listed by this name on the index, it may have been the actual name, and not a generic designation.

This building appears on the 1899 map, when it was shared by a racket store and a cigar factory. On the 1915 map, the theater, which had the whole space in 1907, is sharing it with a barber. By 1927, this structure had reverted to stores.

The entire block has been destroyed, and is mostly a parking lot, with one drab little ‘modern’ structure located where the the theater building was.
