Previously 30+ years before the Auditorium Theatre opened its doors, the city of Cameron used to have the Auditorium Opera House located in Cameron, and was known to be the oldest theatere in the city of Cameron dated to at least sometime between the 1890’s and the early-1900’s. The Opera House however does not have a lot of information. As of 1904, there is at least a bit of information about it.
A couple of decades later, the Auditorium Theatre was constructed in August/September 1920 and was completed on September 23, 1920. The Auditorium Theatre made an opening notice on the Cameron Herald on October 14, 1920 announcing that the Auditorium Theatre (or Theater for a bit of secondary) will open next Thursday night. A week later, it was opened to the public on October 21, 1920. A month and 4 days later, it showed its first silent film festival at the Auditorium Theatre.
The Auditorium Theatre turned from a huge success into a dying process throughout 10 months. The Auditorium Theatre ended up closing its doors in August 1921 and was later converted into a dealership, notable called the Cameron Motor Company. Originally the Cameron Motor Company was planned to build next to the theatre itself.
