Grand Theatre

Located in Woking, Surrey. The Public Hall was built and opened in 1895. It was the earliest building in town to screen films. It was sometimes known as the Woking Hippodrome and by 1914 it was the Electric Empire. It had closed by 1927. It was re-named Grand Theatre and in May 1929 it was taken over by the London & Southern Super Cinemas Ltd. chain. It was closed in 1935 and reverted back to its original use as a Public Hall.
