Skyway Drive-In

Located to the southwest of Ashtabula, OH. The Ashtabula Skyway Drive-In was opened by 1948 with a capacity for 250-cars when it was operated by R.H. Manley. By 1949 he had increased the car capacity to 300. By 1950 it was operated by Ohio Theatre Service.

By 1952 the car capacity had increased to 350-cars and it had been renamed Skyway Drive-In and was operated by Meyer Fine, Associated Theatres Ct. Still in operation in 1988.

At least during the 1980s when I spot-checked, the Skyway was run by Selected Theatres Mgmt. Co. The Motion Picture Almanacs included it in Selected’s circuit listing and the MPA’s annual drive-in list through the final list in the 1988 edition.
