This Theatre appears on the 1911 Sanborn, operating in the northern half of a modest concrete block building that it shared with the St. Elmo Hotel. This building was built sometime after 1901, when the map shows only a tiny wooden photographer’s shack on the lot.

The Idle Hour Theatre remains in operation on the 1920 map, but had closed by 1926. By 1951 the space is again a small hotel. Today, with some disastrous remodeling and lack of maintenance, the building appears to be rather depressing apartments.

Note that when the Idle Hour Theatre was operating, the name of the street was Greenville Street.
