The Surf Drive-In was open as early as 1954, located on Broad Street, it was just down the road from the New Moon Twin Drive-In. it was operated by Southern Amusement Company. The Surf Drive-In appears to have outlived its twinned rival as it was still intact in as late as 1971. Its since been demolished with the Calcasieu Parish School Board Administrative Office built in its place.
