The Elmwood Theatre opened its doors on March 20, 1937 with Edward Arnold and Frances Farmer in “Come And Get It”, along with an unnamed comedy in Technicolor and a cartoon. The theatre was owned by Jack McCarthy of the nearby town of Louisville, Nebraska. The Elmwood Theatre is home to both films and special events were held in the theatre in the city of Elmwood.

Continuing its operation into the 1950’s, its closing date is not known at this time, so the hunt still continues.
