The 1913 Sanborn shows a ‘Picture Theatre’ in a strangely shaped wooden building just south of Bradley Alley on Front Street. This location was an empty lot in 1895.

The theatre section was one story, and wedge shaped, being wider at the rear. There were two small storefronts in a 2-story section to the south.

This primitive structure served an area of modest homes and stores, mostly wooden. By 1949 at the latest, it had been replaced by a gas station.

This entire area has been completely reworked. Front Street seems to have been called Riverside Drive for a time, and is now Roosevelt Boulevard. McConaughey St, to the south, has completely vanished, as has the alley. Sometime around 1960 or so, this entire area for several blocks to the west was transformed into a wasteland of parking lots with large light industrial buildings scattered about. The theatre would have been about where the U-Haul location is today.

Of the nine theaters listed at Johnstown in the 1914-1915 American Motion Picture Directory only three were listed without addresses, and of those three the Grand is accounted for. The other two were the Family Theatre (not to be confused with the Park Family Theatre, which was also listed) and the Victoria Theatre. Assuming that this little neighborhood theater was listed, and was still in operation, it must have been one of those two.
