Sometime between 1901 and 1909, an armory was constructed where there has previously been storage for an implement dealer. Built of concrete block, it appears to have been shaped rather like a castle. The front and rear were two stories, with a large truss-roofed drill hall of one tall story between.

From the beginning, a stage and scenery were located at the rear of the drill hall. By 1914-15, this building was in use as a theater, likely part time. The structure remains on the 1922 map, but it’s unclear whether it was still operating as a cinema.

The building was demolished years ago, and the site is a parking lot. The address is approximate, even the 1922 map does not show addresses.

The armory was constructed in 1908. Pictures from the early-mid ‘70s show it was used as the Turpin Dodge dealership.
