I found this while doing work for a local museum in the St. Louis Argus newspaper archive. Few folks have seen the exterior and I’m pretty excited to have found one representation. I know of a second–a real photo postcard of the theater currently resides at Calvin Riley’s George G. Vashon Museum (near the Griot Museum) on St. Louis Avenue. He seemed a little nonchalant about it but I’m pretty sure I screamed when I saw it.

If you could attribute in the future this photo to the St. Louis Argus Archive that I, Mark Loehrer, put together (just the archive, not me–I don’t need credit), that’d be swell. It took a lot of time to scan and upload.
