Music Hall

The façade of the building has an 1877 date with the names Frye Block & Music Hall in stone. This opened as the Music Hall on December 20th, 1907. It was renamed Keith’s Theatre on November 12th, 1906, and Nickel Theatre on January 7th, 1907, showing movie pictures and illustrated songs. It was operated by J.L. Reade and presented 10 shows a day. It reopened as Music Hall again on August 23rd, 1909 and closed as a movie theatre in 1929.

It has been converted into a courthouse now Maine District Court.
