Early (earliest?) ad for Groom Theatre

On April 22, 1943 there were advertisements for Goff’s Theatre and Groom Theatre, but they may have been the same. January 20, 1944 may be the first actual listing of Groom Theatre, and I found no news story of Goff’s Theatre closing. It may be the same theatre run under a different name.

In March 1960, there was a reference to a Dove Theatre, but it may have still been called Groom Theatre, just owned by Dove.

It was closed for several months in 1961, but on January 26 it was showing movies. It reopened Fri October 27, 1961. Box Office reported on January 1, 1962 that “A completely remodeled and redecorated Groom Theatre was re-opened recently by its new owner, Bob Nicholson, who purchased the building and equipment from Frank Dover”.

On June 29, 1967, it was still showing movies, but by October 26, 1967 it was listed for sale.
