Broadway Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1913 Sanborn, occupying the western half of a large two story brick building constructed sometime between 1885 and 1892. The space had most recently been a drug store.

The building being quite deep, this would have been a fairly spacious early theatre. It’s not clear when it closed, but it would have been many years ago.

Sadly, this building and two neighboring structures have been ruined by a cheap and nasty cinder block facade which may have been applied sometime in the 1980’s or 1990’s. It seems to be occupied by a party store.
