I went to two theaters while growing up in Concord, N.H. – the Star Theater, which is now a video rental place renting the same Roy Rogers films I saw there as a kid. I was last in Concord in 1999 so it may have changed, but it was on a sidestreet. You can see the word “Star” on the threshold.
The Star Theater was opened November 24, 1915 and was right around the corner from the Concord Theater which is now used for community performances, but was still in use in 1972 while I was visiting there. You can still see the marquee and the poster frames on the building. The Star Theater closed on December 1, 1951 with Farley Granger in “Strangers on a Train” & Johnny Mack Brown in “Trail’s End”.
