I went to two theaters while growing up in Concord, N.H. – the Star Theater, which is now a video rental place renting the same Roy Rogers films I saw there as a kid. I was last in Concord in 1999 so it may have changed, but it was on a sidestreet. You can see the word “Star” on the threshold.
The theater was right around the corner from the Concord Theater which is now used for community performances, but was still in use in 1972 while I was visiting there. You can still see the marquee and the poster frames on the building. The Star Theater closed in about 1950.

The Star seated 1,073.
Does anyone know when the Star was built? Also, I have the theater on Pleasant Street; others say it is on Main. Is there a way I can confirm the address?
I believe this photo might be the Star Theatre in Concord. It dates back to the 1920s or earlier. Picture courtesy of Laura Frommer, great-granddaughter of theatreman Jacob Conn, who owned Conn’s Theatre in Concord. Can someone verify?
PHOTO.
The Star Theatre was located on Pleasant Street in Concord, about ½ block up from Main Street. The Concord Theatre, where I worked from 1967 – 1994 when it closed, was at 18 ½ South Main Street in Concord.

There is a Video Store on one side of the theatre and a White Mountain Gourmet Coffee on the other side.
