This theater opened as the Crescent Theatre in 1914 on Boston Road near Home Street in the Morrisania area of the Bronx. It could seat a little under 1700. During the 40s, the theater was renamed the Tower, and by the 50s, it again got a new name, the Carver. Today, the building, with its still-ornate white terra-cotta facade, houses a church.
