Exterior with original Santa Fe signage

Viewing: Photo | Street View

Opened as the Santa Fe Theatre in 1927 originally seating 1,146. The style was a Mission Revival when it first opened. It stopped showing films in the late-1970’s. It has since opened as a rock concert venue. It features a mix of rock bands and Mexican bands.

The theatre is in very bad shape with some of the front stores boarded up. The facade has been partially painted in a pale pink. The old Santa Fe vertical sign is still hanging but not in use. The original marquee has been removed and a flat attraction panel is against the front facade over the entrace way. The old poster cases have been boarded in and painted yellow. It is sad to see what was once a beautiful theatre let go like this one has.

This is a recent photo. It looks like the photo has been “colorized”.
