This theater opened in 1907, originally called Spier’s Theatre, it was located on S. Broad Street. The architect was Charles E. Oelschlager. Oelschlager returned in 1912, to enlarge and remodel the auditorium and backstage areas.
Later renamed the Plaza Theatre, by 1941 it was operated by Warner Bros. Circuit Management Corp. The Plaza Theatre closed in 1955 and was later demolished. The Fumo Family Branch of the Philadelphia Public Library is on the site today.
