Here is a fresh link to the 1938 Boxoffice article about the Circle Theatre.
Here is a link to the 1938 Boxoffice article about the Circle Theatre I mentioned above. On seeing the photos again I think I’d call the style Art Deco rather than Art Modern, though it was not the most costly Art Deco.
The article includes a list of a number of other theaters designed by Bennett & Straight.
The remodeling shown in the 1979 photo concealed the original Art Moderne facade as designed by Bennett & Straight. The Circle Theatre was give a two-page spread in the January 8, 1938, issue of Boxoffice, with photos of the lobby rotunda, the spacious 1,800-seat auditorium, and the original facade with its intricate massing.
Bennett & Straight also designed the Midway Theatre in Dearborn.

The Circle Theatre was designed by the architectural firm Bennett & Straight. There was a photo of it in the February 11, 1939, issue of Boxoffice magazine.
Here is a photo of the market located in this former theater.
A Yellow Pages search of 12715 W. Warren Avenue shows a Super Greenland Market is now located on this site.
