I’d love to know if anyone finds any others for sale on the web. I’m especially interested in any for sale in Connecticut since that is where I live. (Anyone know if anything is being done with the former State Theatre in Jewett City which closed last spring?)

Anyone know of any small theaters for sale in S.E. Michigan. I am looking for a theater to show independent/art films, and as the possible home for a film festival.
I am currently raising funding for (and forming) a 501©(3) to collect a video library and do film education.
Great listing! Was neat to see the Capital in Niagara Falls listed here for sale. I was in that building just a few years ago, and remember it vividly. The main floor of the auditorium had been converted into a roller rink at some point in its life, and badly suffers from extensive warping of the hardwood floor boards. While plaster work remains in the lobby, balcony front and dome, and some ceiling medallions, everything else was lost in the remodel for the rink. The only thing left of what would have been the proscenium arch is its squared off outline. The booth is empty of its contents, except for a loan arch spot. It was ment as a film only house from the start, the “stage” is very small and has no fly space or rigging. I personally think the $129,900 asking price is quite high considering the overall condition of the place, and the area of the city it is in.
WOW! Cool that you took the time to put this list together! Our Port Theatre is currently for sale, although we have had several inquiries recently regarding the wonderful historical building just put back on the market last month. It is located in Port St. Joe, FL and more info can be found on this website under Port Theatre, one of the original Martin Theatres.
Any new listings I am in the market for a theatre and haven’t seen anything recent listed here. When is the next update!

There are usually more than one photo album. One is of the Theatre and any others are of our weekly auction items. We have over 40 photos of the theatre up. You might have to copy and paste the link into your browser, rather than click, but that address will get you to the photos. Port Theatre is located on the Gulf Coast of Florida in an area that has been going up 30+% per year on average in property values.

If you want it updated feel free to go right ahead and do the research required. I don’t have the time right now to put together another listing. Many of the theatres above still appear to be for sale. The Madison in Albany is only asking $399,000 now.
