FORT HOOD, TX — The Palmer Theater recently reopened after a six-month closure due to a fire. They now have new stadium seating as well.

Drive-in movie theater to open on top of LA parking garage
LOS ANGELES, CA — Downtown L.A. has another new theatre with the opening this Sunday of the Electric Dusk Drive-In. The theatre on top of a parking garage will have carhop service and the films will be projected on an inflatable screen.

Cinéopolis opens pricey luxury cinema in Westalke Village
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA — The new Cinepolis Westalke Village that was mentioned in August has opened and is already bringing the crowds in. The luxury cinema concept known for its recliners and in-theater dining is expanding across the Southwest.

Angelika movie theater opening in Fairfax
FAIRFAX, VA — After being discussed for two years the new Angelika Film Center is opening. Like their counterparts, they’ll be featuring a cafe along with post-show entertainment like Q&A’s.

Williamsburg Cinemas to open for holidays
WILLIAMSBURG, NY — The Williamsburg Cinemas in the works since 2010 has been delayed again but should be ready to open for the holidays. The seven-screen multiplex from the same people that brought you the Cobble Hill Cinemas will show a mix of indie and mainstream films.

Two brothers reviving closed Clay Theater in Green Cove Springs
GREEN COVE SPRINGS, FL — The Watzke brothers are ready to reopen the Clay Theatre later this month after four years of inactivity. They plan on applying for a license to serve beer and wine but also plan on building a family-friendly environment.

LUBBOCK, TX — Over two years in the making, the Premiere Cinemas at the South Plains Mall is slated to open this month. They’ll feature the largest IMAX in West Texas as well as D-Box seats.

Maya Cinemas renovates, reopens former Brenden 16 Cinema
PITTSBURG, CA — Maya Cinemas has reopened the Brenden 16 as the Pittsburg 16. They aim to cater to ethnic minorities and feature a crying room for kids to make it more family-friendly.

Cinepolis opening eight-screen, 600 seat luxury-plex at Westlake Promenade at end of September

Carmike to open new “BIGD” theater in Myrtle Beach
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Carmike is building one of its signature BIGD theaters at Broadway at the Beach this month. The wall to wall screen will now make for 17 at the complex.
