Famed theater manager passes
PALISADES PARK, NJ — Christopher Stavrou, loyal operator of the Park Lane Theater for many years, has passed away at 97. He led quite the double life as professor in linguistics after acquiring a masters and Ph.D, all while managing the theater for almost 50 years!

Photo of the Moment: Roxy Drive-In On the Brink
I was scanning the ever-expanding photo section this morning (now over 10,200 images) and caught this image by “MarkNYLA” of the now demolished Roxy Drive-In in Wellsburg, NY. It’s an arresting sight and a good reminder to enjoy your local drive-in (and hard top) theater while you can. Strathmore’s Joyland Theatre Can Be Repaired
STRATHMORE, AB — The Joyland Theatre is repairable, according to CBC News. The historic theater was damaged during a windstorm in which a firewall attached to the theater was knocked down during a packed matinee screening.
