Historic marker unveiled for the Clayton
DAGSBORO, DE — Delaware’s last firs-run single screen theatre, the Clayton, received a historic marker recently for its 65 years of service. With digital prohjection they seem set for many more and the community couldn’t be more loyal.

Kallett Theatre back and better than ever
PULASKI, NY — Following an extensive renovation, the Kallet Theatre reopened in November as a multi-use performing arts venue. They’re now attracting national acts and providing an intimacy that keeps people coming back.

Moviegoers say goodbye to Longmont’s Twin Peaks theater
LONGMONT, CO — It may have only opened in 1997 but the Twin Peaks 10 gave its audiences its fair share of memories. Once the former Twin Peaks Mall is redeveloped into the Village Twin Peaks, there will be a new theater. That’s not until 2015 though.

Fight to save the Retlaw
FOND DU LAC, WI — The Retlaw Theater is in danger of being torn down for a parking lot for a new building next store. The 1925 theatre has been closed for the past seven years but is still structurally sound. A Friends of the Retlaw group is fighting to stall the plans but with the city receiving state grant money for the redevelopment, it’ll be a tough one.

OSHKOSH, WI — The Time Community Theater is celebrating five years back in business with some great repertory offerings. Besides their recent Free Fridays series of classic films, they’re relaunching Friday Night Fright, a free series of classic horror films.

SACO, ME — The days of film are coming to an end for drive-ins with many saying this is the last summer any that haven’t converted will be around. The Saco Drive-In made the jump though just in time for its 75th Anniversary.

“Weird Al” Yankovic music video “Tacky” filmed at Palace Theatre
LOS ANGELES, CA — The music video for “Weird Al” Yankovic’s first single from his new album Mandatory Fun was filmed in one take at the Palace Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The song is “Tacky” which is a parody of the Pharrell Williams song “Happy.”

Art Theatre salutes Ebert
CHAMPAIGN, IL — The Art Theatre is paying tribute to Roger Ebert, the famous critic that discovered a love for film at this very cinema. They’re the first theatre in the area playing the new documentary on him, “Life Itself,” and regularly pay tribute to him through screenings of films from his list of greatest.

Prytania celebrates Billy Wilder

Orpheum salutes Shirley Temple
MEMPHIS, TN — The Orpheum’s summer movie series will have a special matinee screening this year to salute the late great Shirley Temple. This Friday the 25th they’ll have a 1:30pm showing of “The Little Princess.” Best of all, they’ll also be hosting tea parties before and after the show.
