Weird configuration. Located at the southern end of the mall. At the entrance theaters 1 and 2 in the right theater 3 on the left. Behind this is a long ramp upwards. At the end of the ramp to the right theaters 6 through 10 9 being IMAX. to the left at the top another wing includes concessions and theaters 11 to 15 the small studio theaters.
Why in the world do they insist on Valley Fair mall to be in San Jose when it’s clearly in Santa Clara? Across Stevens Creek Boulevard The Santana Row formerly the Town & Country shopping center is in San Jose.
I was the manager of this theater in the summer of 1985. Much like the Airport in Oakland, the Oakland in San Leandro and Fremont auto movie, it had a sunken almost bunker projection booth that would beam upward to the enormous screen. Kent was my assistant. Wonderful times. The swap meet was legendary!😍

Opened as Mann Festival 8 in 1992 much like the Festival Cinemas in Hayward Tarzana/Los Angeles Walnut Creek Larkspur Stockton San Ramon and Clovis.
