Paddington Antique Centre appeared on an episode of “Clash of the Collectables(episode 7)”. There is a date of 1929 on the floor inside a circle(in the entrance?). Does anyone know where the tram pictured outside the Plaza Theatre in the photo above ran to and from on it’s route?
There is a mens hair salon(John Nicholls barber) in the building to the left of the cinema entrance(and exit), and in the building to the right of the cinema entrance(and exit) is a shop selling(and refilling?) ink cartridges(Cartridge World Fleurieu Peninsula), and a radio station(Power FM).
The building has reopened!! Now called Lighthouse Theatre, and screens films at film festivals, and stages plays, musicals and ballet. Website is www.lighthousetheatre.com.au
The instttute bulding opening in(1870’s?). The building was demolished on 19/9/2008 after the Kingston District Council decided(by 6 votes to 5) not to save the 130 year old year old building.
The church has moved to a new location(sometime in 2017?) near the drive-on site!! The entrance(and exit road?) is now blocked off. The church is called Troode Street Church. The church when on the druve-in may have used the snack bar(and bio box) building(later the Safari Nightclub) for there church?
The site is a cake shop(Melissa Cakes), now closed down. Future of building unknown? Unknown if same building converted or if theatre building knocked on and rebuilt for the forrmer cake shop?
