Martin Theatre opened in 1941. Martin theatre was hit by lightning and caught fire in the summer of 1981, and the interior burnt down. The front and side(and back?) walls, and theatre sign(marquee?) are still there. The remains of the theatre were seen brielly on an episode of American Pickers(episode – Sweet Homes Alabama). The theatre has been reopened as an outdoor theatre showing movies and concerts and live productions with canvas sheets over the top where the roof and ceiling used to be.
There is footage of Camden Drive-in on Youtube(drive-in blues, towards the end). I think a little of the footage was used on a episode of American Pickers, and a still picture/photo as well(i forget which episode?).
It is believed that Hoyts operated it’s Southlands complex in parthership with Ace Cinemas. Despite Southlands Shopping Centre signage stating this, the parthership never existed.
The Piccadilly Theatre opened on 10/3/1938 opened by His Excellency Lieut. Governer Sir James Mitchell K.C.M.G. (at 8pm) showing “Paramount Airmail News from Overseas”, “Turn off the Moon”, and “I met him in Paris”.
The last film shown at the end of the Perth Fringe Festival on 23/2/2014 was “When God Met Satan”. According to the Wikipedia page for the Piccadilly Theatre, the Piccadilly Theatre is haunted(by a customer or former manger?)?
The picture theatre building is to the right of Brand Way (about where the truck is in the background of the Streetview photo). The mini golf is just to the right of the sign(in tbe foreground of the above Streetview photo), the visible roof is where the video games arcade is(and ticket office, and snack bar?).
The builing is now(on the ground floor) a clothing store(Rivers), an Indian restaurant(3 Sisters Spice), and an atm(Westpac)nin between. Unknown when the Coles Variety Store closed down.
The Thai(Not Tai) restaurant us Siam Thai. There was restaurant before the Thai restaurant(British). i think was called Beefeaters(there was a picture of a Beefeater on the restaurant sign(and possibly on the building as well?)!?

Grand Cinemas Whitfords closed on 13/5/2016. The cinema complex is going to reopen as Event Cinemas(opening date unknown?).
That part of High street in front of the Majestic theatre building became a pedestrian mall in(1970’s or 1980’s, i think?).

Is there any drive-in screens remaining that still have the artwork on the back of the screen, or are they all gone?
The remainng buildings are now the Nungarin Heritage Machinery and Army Musuem. The address is Military Drive.
