Can anyone give me info on the Cinemart on Gov Prinz? I can’t find any info anywhere, but, I stop to look at it every time I’m in the area. What a mystery. The only thing I can tell is that I was built in the 60’s due to the chandelier and font on the front sign.

Is it possible they are reopening it? Nah, we need another Target/Wal-Mart/Lowes.

I saw War of the Worlds here a few years back, and can still remember how great the sound was for such an old theater. The picture was horrible, though.

I remember seeing the Dark Crystal here in the early 80s. This is very sad news. I live in Delaware now, but, was looking forward to visiting this theater again soon. It only makes us treasure the theaters we still have even more.

I remember seeing Saving Private Ryan there, and, it is still one of the most emotional movie experiences I have ever had. It will never be as good as it was on the big screen. I remember crying, and the whole theather standing in ovation at the end.

I grew up in Laurel Springs, and don’t remember this. If anyone has more info, please let me know.

I saw Batman on opening weekend here. It was a mob scene. I remember channel 6 was there interviewing people. I will never forget the smell of astroturf carpet and popcorn. This theater also had the Taco Bell experiment in the early 90s. I ermember people complaining about the smell, which I’m sure had something to do with the ending of this menu item. This was also one of the last theaters to use the old style tickets that just had the theater number on it. Very random, and easily counterfitted. You are also right about the rear consession stand. I only remember seeing it open once, and that was for Batman.

This theater also has an easy layout for sneaking in. There is only 1 bathroom, and the middle of the building. there is an exit right in front of this, so, as the door opened, we would just duck into, then, out the other doors, which were already inside. No sweat.

This theater holds hold my most movie memories. I saw Return of the Jedi 6 times there, and, was there at the re-release of it years later. From 1989 to 1995, we must have snuck in to see over 100 film. We snuck into just as many across the street at the 6. I remember huge lines for the openings of Back to the Future 2, Dick Tracy & the Phantom Menace. I also remember seeing Event Horion at the midnight show, and walking out to a pitch black packing lot. The lights were on a timer then, and they failed to realize the hundreds of people still inside. I think they have fixed this. I also remember the bullhorn that used to come out and let everyone know what was sold out. Do they still do this? I also remember the Midnight shows they had there. Before the VCR craze, they would run old movies at midnight at a discount price. I must have seen Purple Rain 5 times one summer. They also showed alot of scary movies then, like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th. Always packed!

The old marquee is now just a brown spraypainted blob. Sad.

I remember seeing Annie here. It was very small, but, with easy access to the mall, it was a dream for any teenager. I remember the Gap being right outside the entrance. It was straight out of a John Hughes movie.

I agree that this is a terrible theater. Bad sound, rude employees, and a bad layout. Not to mention high prices. again, though, convenience wins out over everything else.

This is another ho-hum mulitplex built on the fomer Atco Drive Ine site. I remember seeing Star Trek 5 at the old drive in, then, it was soon closed. This theather is one of the hardest to get into, and there is really only one way to get into the parking lot. Then, the parking is in the rear of the building, so, you have a long walk to get in. Poorly designed, but, the only game in town.

This is a very eerie place to visit. All that is left is a screen and a single pole. The rest is trees and trash. How in the world did you het in and out of this place? Anyway, it is in the middle of nowhere, and would probably not cost much to buy and refurbish. I would certainly take a trip there one night.

I saw Red eye and the 40 Year Old Virgin there a few years back. My wife and I had a great time. All in all, it was a cheap date night. Good sound through the car speakers. Pretty big crowd on a beautiful evening. Glad to see it’s back. The long lines between features at the women’s bathroom brought back memories. I also liked the old advertisments and 3 Stooges shorts.

This theater is pretty nice for what it is. Comfortable seats, and good sound. I remember this as being the first theater I ever saw an advertisment for Titanic, 2 years before it hit theaters. It was a black standee that just said “James Cameron’s Titanic. Coming Soon.”

Man, that is a scary place to drive past still. I drove past it all the time as a teen ager, as it’s parking lot was a short cut to my girlfriend’s house. I also remember the protestes happening very weekend. Why has this not been torn down? I guess because there is really no need for the land. It has got to be one of the oddest locations for a movie theater- the back of a strip mall, where they dump the dishwater.

This is where I saw my first movie, Star Trek 1. I was 2, and can still remember it like it was yesterday. I als saw Star Trek 3 and Tremors there. Stale popcorn, bad sound, and poorly lit parking lot asside, it was always a great time.
