AMC Deptford Mall 6

Located directly across from Sears Auto Center of the Deptford Mall on Deptford Centre Road. The theater is south of Philadelphia, in Gloucester County in South Jersey. The AMC Deptford 8 is another movie theater that is nearby.

Opened December 4, 1976 as the GCC Deptford Mall 4 has auditoriums with traditional raked seating and digital sound. Opened as a General Cinema Corp. (GCC) theater it was later taken over by AMC and another two screens were added on July 16, 1982. It was closed in 2013 and was demolished in early-2014.

True about the bathrooms. as a teen I would wonder in and out of movies all day if I was alone or with friends.

I was unaware that it closed as well. Very sad. I would have loved to go for one more show. Was there any word beforehand?

You can officially list this theater as DEMOLISHED. It is now an overflow parking lot for Christmas Tree Shop. A sad day.

This opened on December 24th, 1976 with four screens. Its grand opening ad can be found in the photo section.

I don’t remember every film I saw there, but I did see many classics there. I know I saw The 1978 remake of “The Invasion of the Bodysnatchers” and “The Shining” there. I think “Rock and Roll High School” played there for a week. Not necessarily a great theater, but I’ve seen some of my still favorite movies there.

Please update, theatre opened December 24, 1976 AND expanded to 6 screens on July 16, 1982
