Advance tickets are on sale for venom in 3d regular and imax while a star is born gets the dolby treatment along with the regular version. Venom was mixed in dolby atmos as well as mastered in dolby vision so I think it’s a bit disappointing.
I was wondering if US moviegoers can use their AMC Stubs card at this venue since Odeon is owned by AMC. They have to get used to the british pound too.
This was the place to see “Jaws” if you lived in the big apple. Despite its mono soundtrack and 35mm projection, Jaws played almost everywhere during its run and became the first major blockbuster and made even more on home video when it hit laserdisc first in 1978 and on VHS in 1980 along with Jaws 2 after succesfull reissues.
I heard that “Cats” will become a feature film soon, this was old news from awhile ago…should be pretty interesting. They should have the US premiere here.
Cineplex Odeon, under Universal, helped make Jurassic Park a top draw in DTS in their theaters, including the Route 4 Tenplex and the Ziegfeld theater.
I agree. First it was called Loew’s when it owned MGM until it sold off the studio. Then in the late 60s new owners took over the company and removed the ‘ and became a huge conglomerate that would soon sell the theater division to Coke, who would sell it to sony, then have it merged with cineplex, then filed for bankruptcy protection while under ownership by Onex before AMC took over. It’s like when General Cinema was dying until AMC came in and ate it up. Same for Carmike before it became AMC Classic.
Did they reduce the number of screens to 7? Why? I used to go there years ago back in 2002 when I saw Minority Report with my mom and had a great time there.
The thing is you can’t use the A-List on fathom events. This weekend every marvel movie will be shown in the imax auditorium including for the first time iron man and incredible hulk. Mission impossible is back in dolby for a few weeks until the nun comes out before the predator comes out in both dolby and imax. Pretty soon amc a list and Sinemia will be the only choices as movie pass will go extinct.

What a shame this drive in closed….
Had this theater remained open, it would’ve become an RKO-Stanley Warner, then a Cineplex Odeon, then a Loews Cineplex, and finally an AMC.
nearly 35 years ago this year this theater opened.
I wonder since this theater is in Deer Park you could get deer ticks at this place….
